What experience do I need to become an UpFresh Kitchen quick service restaurant franchise owner?

We seek franchise owners who are invested in a healthy lifestyle, possibly involved in the ownership or management of a business that complements UpFresh Kitchen such as a gym or fitness center. We also welcome healthcare professionals who are looking to expand their skillset and business portfolio. Restaurant experience would be an asset, but is not required. Franchise owners need to be personable and able to create relationships with partnerships in communities for distribution. Regardless of your background, we’ll provide the tools and training you need to run an effective UpFresh Kitchen quick service restaurant franchise.

What is provided as part of the UpFresh Kitchen program?

A complete pre-opening training program, lasting up to two weeks, is provided to you and key team members. Then, in conjunction with commencing business operations, a representative will spend five days assisting the you and your team onsite at your location. We work very closely with you as you prepare to open your franchise, through your grand opening and onward. Initially, we provide site selection guidance, build-out support, as well as assistance in planning and ordering initial inventories from selected suppliers. Franchise owners will benefit from technology tools, onsite training, and a confidential operations manual which details important operational procedures, reporting, equipment maintenance, marketing, and more.

How much will the UpFresh Kitchen franchise program investment cost me?

The total initial investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $180,900 – $479,900, including $25,000 that must be paid to us or an affiliate. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.

Is financing available?

No. We do not provide direct financing to franchisees, but we may refer to financing sources on a case by case basis.

Are there ongoing fees to pay?

We charge a royalty fee equal to 6% of gross sales.

Are there any advertising fees?

Franchise owners will be required to spend the greater of 1% of gross revenues or $500, paid monthly, on local marketing initiatives. Franchise owners also contribute one percent (1%) of gross revenues into the system marketing fund. Contributions to the system marketing fund are used to develop materials and campaigns to build awareness for the entire UpFresh Kitchen network.

What is the term of the agreement?

The initial term of your agreement is ten years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five years each.
